So, Wednesday night we had our first homecooked meal—eggs, veggies, and potatoes made by the guys. Yum…or so we thought. 5 of the 8 of us had a less than restful night but we learned our lesson that potatoes must be well cooked. As a result, most of Thursday was spent getting some much needed R&R but we did take some time to discuss our pre-trip reading and get started on our individual research about Peruvian society. Everyone was still a bit worn out so lights were out before 9 for most of us.

Market shopping for orejitas (little bananas). Gotta get our BRAT!

Friday started with the first morning run of the trip. We ran past the town of Taray and enjoyed great views of Mount Pitusiray. We continued working on our projects, preparing to present to the high school STRIVERS when they arrive. Sierra and I also walked around the plaza again and bought Peru jerseys to wear tomorrow when we go to Cusco to watch Peru’s first World Cup game versus Denmark, although we need to improve our plaza negotiation techniques. A late afternoon session of the P90X Ab Ripper workout left us ready for another meal cooked by the guys. Fingers crossed it sits well with everyone tonight!
