Arlington, VA – Last March, I returned to my hometown of Boston, MA to attempt to set the World Record for fastest half marathon run on a treadmill and, in doing so, raise money and awareness for the charitable projects of STRIVE Trips. I was successful in both – breaking the world record by 11 seconds and raising over $9000 for STRIVE’s work.

Despite the success on paper, I left Boston feeling like I had more to give. The truth was, I had been struck by a hit-and run driver just a month before the event and knew that the injuries sustained in the accident would leave me less than 100% ready for the record attempt.

On the day of the attempt, I felt unprepared and terrified as I ran through the first of those daunting miles. But thanks to motivation of those who showed up to cheer me on and the many more who were supporting both me and STRIVE from afar, I survived those 13.1 miles and set the World Record.

But, this time, I want to do more than just survive.

I’ve been invited by ProForm Fitness to return to Boston this year and attempt to set my second World Record for Treadmill Half Marathon. The attempt will take place at the Boston Marathon Expo on at 10:30am on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Under the back-drop of the World’s Greatest Road Race, not only will I be trying to best my own World Record, I hope to raise even more for STRIVE’s scholarships and projects abroad.

I encourage you all to support my effort by donating online at www.youcaring.com/STRIVE and (for locals) by coming to the event.

Many thanks to ProForm, HOKA One One, and STRIVE Trips for their support of me and this event and to my many friends, family, and fans who are sharing this journey with me. I know that I can accomplish so much more thanks to all of your support and I only hope to make you all proud.

See you in Boston!
