After a week of working, we are all pretty used to things. The soccer rivalry has heated up at Kamirany with two rival camps competing for the Kamirany Cup. The students at St. Pat’s have also gotten into the groove of SAT prep, having turned in their first essay draft for grading by some interns. We also wrote them a sample essay to review. The students at Kiptabus are also getting used to seeing wazungu at school each day, even though they trample each other to run away when they think we are going to eat them. The rain lightened up today, so hopefully this persists for the tenure of the high schoolers. Having dry clothes would be nice. Beyond service and running, we have been preparing our STRIVE Talks for the high school students and have quite a variety of experiences to draw from given the diversity of our group. There is one highly anticipated autobiography that should captivate listeners. There will be one last intern trip to a giraffe farm tomorrow after which all activities will be as a larger unit. The most anticipated of such events will be the Olympic Trials in Elodret on Thursday and Friday. Some high schoolers have landed in Nairobi, so we are excited to have them join us in Kenya and hope to see them soon!
