Today we certainly had a strong start to our final weekend in Pisaq! All the STRIVErs took on Mt. Doom! Mt. Doom was an eighteen kilometer hike, taking us from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM. When finally summiting Mt. Doom we had reached an elevation of 14,300 feet! But this strenuous hike was only a warmp-up for the week ahead at Machu Picchu.
Tomorrow we will be keeping our activity levels high as some of us will be running thirteen miles to our neighboring town of Taray. But luckily for those ambitious STRIVERs there will be a delicous guinea pig lunch waiting for them at the end of their run!
Finally after our guniea pig BBQ, it is good-bye Pisaq, and HELLLOOOO Machu Picchu! Bright and early on Monday morning we will begin our four-day hike to Machu Picchu.
Our Machu Picchu trek will sadly end our time here in Peru.
