We have all gotten into the swing of things here in Iten. Despite pulling an all-nighter in terminal 1D, everyone has developed a fairly regular sleep schedule. Hills and breathing are also getting more normal. Some of us have ventured out to a national park, but were caught in a thunderstorm. There is ostensibly quite a lot of rain to bless down in Africa. In fact, the rain has made drying clothes rather difficult. The only thing that dries is sun-burned skin (nb: wear sunscreen on your shoulders on “singlet sunday”). We have also gotten into a regular work schedule, splitting our time between Kiptabus and Kamirany primary schools in the morning and St. Pat’s  Secondary and Kamirany in the afternoon. Many have gotten into much more serious regiments, despite being the youngest (inside joke). Between runs, we are all working on planning lessons and eating marble cake in the hottest club in Iten. With some luck, banana fritters will be featured some day. We have been anticipating the arrival of the high schoolers, which will be quite soon. I certainly hope they don’t mind hearing “How are you?” whenever they go outside. We are excited to see what the rest of the week holds and for some new arrivals.
