STRIVE team here sending out an update regarding the STRIVE Center classes in Pisac.  Classes have been going well and are on fairly regular schedule of 3x/week for kids and 2x/week for adults.  Classes have moved up to Professor Raimund’s house as the rainy season is approaching and thus our outdoor space at the Pisac Community Museum would no longer work.  Our plan is to maintain our current relationship with the Museum and return to our previous space during the months of June-September.

Class attendance has been fantastic and Raimund has done a great job maintaining and recording attendance for all of our classes.  At first, classes consistently had around 8-10 students for the first month but have now increased to 16 students per class for the last two full weeks of class.  That’s an incredible amount of students recruited by Raimund and he reports that the classes are going very well.  Ramiund has spent a good portion of time helping students with their English homework assignments for school and providing them an opportunity to practice their speaking and listening skills.

On the adult front, there are ten adults who come to class 2x per week and are making great strides in their English levels.  Professor Raimund makes sure to give them lots of homework and practice activities in between classes so that they can practice the concepts they’ve learned in class.

That’s all for now. Thanks to everyone for all of your hard work in making the STRIVE Center a reality and a year round resource for the community members of Pisac. STRIVE will be back with another update in the winter months.
