With Thanksgiving and the holiday season fast approaching here in the U.S., we can’t help but think of all of the delicious home cooking that we’ll be enjoying in the coming days.  It’s also a reminder of one of the greatest aspects of STRIVE Trips: experiencing the food from other cultures around the world.  Food is one of the first things we associate with cultural experiences and it is something that brings everyone together, because who doesn’t like food?

With the variety and abundance of food that we are fortunate enough to have at our disposal in the U.S., it’s easy to forget that amazing food can be had in parts of the world where we may least expect it.

Here’s what some of our STRIVE Trips alumni have had to say about their experiences with food:

“The food was excellent, there were ample fish and veggie options, the only thing I would have liked more of was ceviche.  The breakfasts were always great.” Dona N. / 2016 Running to Machu Picchu Program

“The food was much better and varied than I expected. Meals were great. Selection was great. No issue at all being a vegetarian – grains, pastas, vegetables, eggs, fish etc. Bags of bread! Puffy market snacks! Exotic fruits delivered almost daily by my personal fruit concierges.”Karyn / 2016 Running to Machu Picchu Program

“The trip is full of fun, awesome surprises, especially getting to enjoy Peruvian culture was the greatest surprise, like eating the food there.”Curtis I. / 2017 SCIP Peru Program

“Of course I loved the food when I could get some sweet potatoes. My favorite places we ate at were in Cusco our first day there. The lunch and dinner places were awesome.” Amy H. / 2016 Running to Machu Picchu Program

So, while you’re enjoying the holiday cheer and food comas that are sure to follow, just remember that there is amazing food to try all around the world and we’d love for you to come experience it with us!

Adventure is out there; let us show you the way!
