After flying countless miles and layovers in Amsterdam, Istanbul, and Dubai, all the interns safely arrived, albeit fatigued, to Nairobi. Our journey, however, was not over. We had one final flight from Nairobi to Eldoret in the morning, forcing almost all of us to spend the night in domestic terminal 1D. No one felt the impulse to sleep in the luxurious aluminum chairs in the front terminal, so we bonded together, sitting in silence and staring at a wall after our fifteen minutes of free wifi was exhausted. Unknown to us, one intern;s phone was making another journey from the seat of an airport bus to the pocket of an employee, to the home of that employee in Nairobi. Fortunately, the phone was safely returned before the flight. The final flight was a cake walk compared to the others and we were greeted by an energized Rob, waiting in a van to take us to Iten. After one final car ride, we arrived safely at the HATC, and proceeded to sleep from anywhere between twelve and sixteen hours after two to three days of travel.
